INSPIRATION FROM INDIGENOUS CULTURES

INSPIRATION FROM INDIGENOUS CULTURES

We recently passed the observance of Columbus Day here in the US. It is supposed to celebrate the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the Americas.

There is much controversy about this holiday, and debate about the consequences of Columbus’s arrival to the indigenous peoples of the US. I don’t want to get too political, but rather I want to take this opportunity to celebrate the native peoples that have inspired me.

You may have noticed that we have quite a few pieces that reflect the inspiration from native culture and art. Both from my birth country of Argentina, and eventually the US, I have been fascinated by the art of indigenous peoples.

In both design and culture, there is a richness and connection to the earth that we can learn a lot from. I enjoy melding these influences into to my designs.

Check out these native inspired pieces. Whether it is the Rosaria necklace, the LunaKava, and Pampa earrings, I have tried to bring a little of this aesthetic into my work.
